The Hunger Games p. 1-20

             A young girl named Katniss is living a normal life for someone living in District 12. She is hunting to her hearts content with her best friend Gale, and just making it by with everyone else in the District. Yet, as soon as the reaping comes around, she is nervous. The reaping is a random draw for one boy and one girl who must face the Hunger Games. The Hunger Games are an event to remind the people of Panem (the country) that the Capitol will never have another uprising, and if they do, the Hunger Games will happen to everyone. Yet, when they draw the name for the Games, it is not her, it is her dearly loved 12 year old sister!
