The Hunger Games p. 187-192

                After Katniss woke up, she was so sore everywhere. She looked up, and the other contestant Rue, was standing above her. Katniss thought that she was dead for sure, but then realized that Rue didn't have a weapon in her hand. Rue suggested that they become allies. That means that they would work together to stay alive. Katniss agreed because she knew that Rue couldn't make it on her own. Rue showed her a bunch of plants and how to tree hop. That was how Rue got around from place to place without being noticed. Katniss taught Rue many hunting tricks. Both of them prospered by being allies, at least they do for now
