The Hunger Games p.40-63

Katniss is in the Capitol. She doesn't know what to think. It looks exactly like it does on television, but even more strange. The people have died their hair strange colors and their skin is exotic colors like turquoise, electric orange, and hot pink. When Katniss is about to get on the train, she realizes Haymitch, the only surviving winner of the Hunger Games, is looking at her. He says something rude and Katniss throws her knife into the table and Peeta knocks him over. Haymitch is extremely surprised and tells them that they might, just might, have a chance in the Hunger Games. He tells them that he will stay sober (he is a drunk) if they listen to every word he said. First, he told them that they must let the stylists do what they want, no matter what they dress you in. He made them swear that they would do this and hopped of the train. However, when Katniss stepped into the dressing room, she was suddenly covered with razors and waxing strips. They were extremely painful. She didn't know what to say or do, but she remembered what Haymitch said and didn't care about the pain. Yet, when she looked at herself in the mirror, she saw a different person. She was no longer hairy and her face looked delicate and sweet, not rugged and grimy. Then, her stylist walked through the door. He told her his name was Cianna and he would be her stylist for the next few days. He was good looking with a hint of gold eyeliner to complement his eyes.
